Smoothie For Bone Health

Smoothie For Bone Health

Healthy bones require healthy mineral balance. When our bodies are too acidic from both a high acid diet and stress, our bones leach out precious minerals to neutralize the acid. Homeostasis is a balanced state that the body must maintain to survive. For example, body temperature is a crucial homeostasis. It can rise and drop a little from the 98 degree norm when you’re ill, but when it fluctuates beyond those few degrees, it is extremely dangerous and can also lead to death!

When you drink a pop or have an acidic meal, your body will leach out the minerals it needs to neutralize the acid. It’s a bit like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Eating foods that are not acidic is crucial for bone health. I suggest your diet contains 70-80% alkaline healthy food for both mineral balance and bone health.

That’s why I created this smoothie.  It’s super alkaline and both the bok choy and celery provide tons of minerals your bones crave. In fact, celery has the same mineral content as your bones. How cool is that?

Cheers to your health!

This smoothie makes enough for 2 people.

Ingredients:

2 baby bok choy (around 2 ½ Cups) Chopped

2 celery stocks, Chopped

1 ½ C of your favorite unsweetened nut milk (I used this one: Milkadamia Unsweetened, Vegan and Keto-Friendly Macadamia Milk, 32 Ounce (Pack of 6))

1 teaspoon grass-fed collagen (My favorite: Vital Proteins Pasture-Raised, Grass-Fed Collagen Peptides (20 oz))

1 ½ vanilla protein powder (This one is great: PaleoPro – Paleo Protein Powder – 1lb/454g – Aztec Vanilla)

1 C frozen berries (I use Costco’s frozen tri berry mix)

½ avocado

2 TBS chia seeds (Viva Naturals – The FINEST Raw Organic Chia Seeds, 2 lb Bag (Packaging May Vary))

Let’s Do This!

Add ingredients to your blender. I like to add the milk and powder first and blend it together. Then I add in the rest of the ingredients and go low and slow working my way up to higher speed.

Blend till it’s the consistence you like and then enjoy!

*Notes: You can also add in a frozen or fresh banana for added sweetness. This article contains affiliate links to products I have both tried and approve of!

Thank you! I don’t think you can taste the bok choy but you could use spinach instead!
