Ask Yourself These Questions for Better Health

What would you do if you were in “perfect health” ? Who would you be? These are important questions to ask yourself.

Models Used Today

I’ve been studying health and wellness for a long time now and what this trip down the rabbit hole has shown me is that the nutrition models used today are broken. How do I know this? We now have more information than ever on health and nutrition, and the statistics on obesity, diabetes and diet-related health issues are continuing to rise.

 

Now, what does this mean? It means that what we’re doing isn’t working and it’s time to look at things a little differently.

 

One Cookie

Here’s a different way of thinking. Most of us try to make changes by doing. For example, you get fired up and say “I’m going to lose weight. Starting tomorrow, I’m going to go to the gym and I’m going to eat healthy.” Now Monday comes around, and you go to the gym eat healthy and stay on track for a day or two, or even a month but something comes up and the voice in your head says, “It’s ok, it was a hard day, just this one cookie (or whatever it is) won’t hurt,” and you collapse into your old habits.

 

Sound familiar?

 

Why is this always happing?

 

Losing Your Mind

This happens because you’re fighting with your subconscious mind, which accounts for 95% of your mind!! That’s huge!! Your subconscious is all of your habits, beliefs, personality, and values that you’ve created in your formative years and up to the age of 35. You are trying to change the way you are with only 5% of your analytical mind.

 

Now, you might be saying, “Okay, now how do I change my subconscious mind about being healthy and not self-sabotage?” The short answer is start BEING that person.

 

Ask yourself the following questions:

 

Who would I be?

What would I do?

How would I feel if I already have/was  ____________?

 

Fill in the blank and start being that! Being is the trick that changes your brain in order to make long-lasting change.
